Got this one today... Ersatz Model 1915/18
Deutsche Maschinefabrik A-G (DEMAG) of Duisburg
This piece is a combination bayonet and trench knife. It is commonly called the “Crank-handle” for obvious reasons. It fits the GEW. 98. I am happy about it!
Should appreciate opinions... Good and bad...

Crosspiece was bented probably, there are many fakes around, should be normally proofed with inspector stamp on blade on thin edges. Should be proofed to attach on Gew98 rifle, the hanger looks it was damaged probably. here are Experts on this area, they will help.

Yes, there are many fakes around but this one I will believe is the real deal... If not I can send it back and get a refund... I am not worried.

I think that the knife is original
I have two DEMAG crank handle this one is the same as yours

I appears to me to have been over cleaned, sanded and rust treated and that has removed any patina, but has a good chance to be authentic. These are a bit of a mine field as there are old repros out there.
