    An evocation of the french "trench cleaners" : a 1st model Vengeur "76", together with a pair of captured M.08 Fernglass and one (of the very few known) camo M15 Adrian helmet.

    [A correction regarding post #26 : maker "76" is Besset-Mure, who was situated avenue Pierre Guérin in Thiers, and was active till around 1960.]

    Here's another 1st model, with the best looking maker's logo IMO.
    As far as I know, this brand, property of Claude Dumas at that time, is the most prolific one with about a quarter of all the M.16 knives built.

    I will end with a knife made by Astier-Prodon. This maker was the actual designer of the couteau-poignard modèle 1916 : it's indeed the in-house "Poignard N°2", proposed in late 1915, that was adopted. Thus Astier-Prodon was the first company to get an order (of 25,000 knives) from the military in 1916 ; but it will only be the third one in term of production, after Bourgade and SGCO.
