Can any Forum member help to identify this German bayonet.
The scabbard is marked on the metal throat: 140.R.8.245.
The bayonet is stamped on one side in three lines:
WEYERSBERG / KIRSCHBAUM & C?? / SOLINGEN
And on the reverse side: A 'Crown' over 'DANZIG'
On the back of the blade is stamped: A 'Crown' over 'W' over '89'. Below this a 'Crown' over 'F'.
Any help or advice will be gratefully received.
Kind regards, Malcolm.
