Kampfmesser Bundeswehr M1968

Bought the 1st pattern, (of three), trial knives of the Bundeswehr-Kampfmesser.

This, 1st pattern knife, (manufactured by Eickhorn), was tested in the Bundeswehr in 1964 and was eliminated in 1965 due to the defective quality of the blade material.

Eickhorn, never, ever, was involved in the production of this pattern combat knife henceforth ...

Such 1st pattern Bundeswehr trial knives are pretty scarce and I hope, I´ll get the knife soon !

This M1968 is painted black. Anyone know if this was officially done by the German Military?
