I love it !
For myself I only have an M3 in my collection, that was stolen by a German Gebirgsjäger, lately escapted from the Adriatic Front, (and Tito´s Partisan´s), out of a Jeep from an soldier of the occupying Army, (US), in St. Johann im Pongau, (Salzburg), in 1945 ...
A really wonderfull example. It was produced between Juli 1943 and April 1944. First scabbard was made by leather called M6. Later on the scabbard was made by a plastic-linen-mixture called M8 (your scabbard). The rarest ist the scabbard marked M8A.
I have one marked M8A1 is it post war?
This marking should be only on the scabbard and it is a very rar one. On April 20 1944 the announced the new M4 and production of the M3 stopped. I dont know if the M4 used also the M8A scabbard. Value of M8A scabbard is around 200 EUR
Here's the marking of my scabbard.
I dont know if they made the M8A1 scabbard during the war but both my M6 and my M7 bayonet's has the M8A1 scabbard
