As far as anyone else has a topic of the (crispy, rare etc) theme of collection. There we are, show here your rarest or favourite bayonet please. Any story about the item? Behind it? Anything that you are considering important or just wanna say.

I would post mine in the morning.

A mint WWII 'Last Ditch' Japanese bayonet with wire wrapped wooden scabbard.
It was incorrectly labelled 'Spanish Bayonet' at a local auction I attended a few
years ago ( my first ! ) and therefore cost me only $55.

The fuller on the blade, contoured grip, and several other features were omitted
to speed production. Wood scabbards were a subtitute for the regular steel
type - a way of saving precious war material. It was produced
by 'National Denki' - maker mark shown:

Probably a turkish copy of the US M5 bayonet ? ...

Some guy´s mean, it´s an turkish export item for the Iran ? ...

    I dont´t know ! ...

But, I know this for sure:
I´ve never, ever, seen such bayonet before, nor, even heard about it ! ...

It seems, the scabbard was former painted black, and, the, (non magnetic), grip plates in steel-blue, or a kinda green ?

I´d appreciate, if some of you guy´s would have further informations regarding this bayonet !

    Thx. in advance !

    Thx. Bud !

    Here´s another "Full Metal" -bayonet.

This bayonet, (with different measurements), fits to the Italian Mannlicher M 1891 Carcano, also to captured Austrian Mannlicher M 1895 rifles and was used by the Italian´s in WWI, also by the Czech Legion.

I do not know the designation of this bayonet for sure ...

I learned, the scabbard´s shown here, originally does´nt came with this bayonet, (it supposed to be a Mannlicher M1895 scabbard ?), but, I got this bayo together with this scabbard and, (regarding the condition of bayo and scabbard), the condition of both looks matching indeed !

The blade of this bayonet is an shortened Vetterli M1870/87 one.

    Overall lenght: 36,1 cm
    blade lenght: 23,8 cm

The Italians also manufactured fighting kives in WWI, made of shortened Vetterli bayonet blades !

IMO this is a very scarce bayonet !
