Not really a story but good examples of 2 M1 bayonets modified (Cut down to 10") by PAL. Both bayonets started out at 16" with one being made by Utica Cutlery and one by PAL. After orders to make all US M1 bayonets at 10", many were modified from the original 16" to 10" standard. Both of these are date 1942 and the modifications were by PAL. You will see some 1943 dated versions of long and cut down bayonet as 1943 was the transitional year to 10". I like the fact the scabbards are both cut down versions as well. All thoughts and opinions are welcome.
