When You look at end of the rifle slot, the areas to barell touch are not so cylindrical on Your handle, so i assume even as mentioned by Kilian no use traces and dirt inside, that this handle could be a repro piece, possible added on a real yataghan blade with different scabbard, compare the handle in the ebay for details. Other explanation could be not fully mashined spare parts handle was used by Bannerman for early 20 century civil market sales, with various type of yataghan blades, one on Ebay link could be even french M42 or M66 blade attached into this handle. The blade attachment here is not corect in area of crossguard, which is visible by hole area there. By repros should be proofed possibility to attach similar bayonet on real rifle.

I find this topic very interesting. Found another one for reference on New World Arms: US Navy Model 1870 Yataghan Bayonet

And it does have the scabbard that I expect to see.

I do wonder in how much the Remington blade differs from the French M1866 blade as I found examples on internet of Remington 1870 bayonets in French Chassepot scabbards. Will look at dimensions later today or tomorrow.

The French M1866 has a completely different shape of fullers, particularly the more square end near the cross guard. The shape of the fullers corresponds more with the British P1856.

    Thank you!
As I think, replics has much poor quality. For exmple of pair of crossed Dahlgren Naval guns superimposed upon a kedge anchor within circular, embossed stippled background is too simplified on fakase handle...
And squama has a simplified form on non original handles...

So I can't say for sure like this example correct compleatly.
But it's handle looks clearly better than many similar ones...
