British helmet paint home guard??

Recently picked this up, I thought the two drilled holes indicated that the lid wasn't combat grade, and so could be home guard issued?

Its a 1941 E Camelinat & Co Ltd lid, with a '41 TTC liner
Any ideas on the paint work??

I don't remember seeing one of these folded under rims helmets having holes in them. I thought these were private purchase.

Not idea, thats partly why I commented

I need to do some looking...but what we’re saying is that the 1-4 holes were introduced AFTER the metal restrictions and therefore didn’t interfere with private purchase bits OR before BUT they weren’t extended to the commercial sector???.....just when we thought we knew everything?...:-]
