British MkIII Turtle pattern helmet
Article about: Hello Ade, Here's a post war Turtle given to me by a friend who found it in a garage. Mk IV 1954, manufactured by CCL. Do you know who CCL were? Cheers, Guy.

It's an BMB made shell, date/maker name will be vertical to the rim 2-3" either side of the rim join, mostly.
The service number on the chin strap is for soldiers who served from 1950-)Oct' 1955.

It may have been repainted post war with olive drab, then repainted again with what you see now.
Is the dark brown on the inside the original colour?

I don't know, this one is for sale I don't own it. But I just thought its odd that the bright green showed under it, also the paint sweeps and spoils?
Seller says its all 100% original...

It's definitely been repainted post war, as was quite common with the long service these helmets had.

I completely agree with Aaron it has been post war repainted at some point in its service life .

Yes, I think he did that to make it look better, I told the seller that it's a post-war re-issue because of the paint. He deleted the pictures with the green paint and still sells it as original 1943... :/
