Hello! I have recently purchased this helmet to join my collection of ww1 and ww2 helmets.
I know its a dispatch riders helmet and its liner is dated 1949.
Does anyone know anything about the decal on the front?
Thanks in advance

Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, I think. Give it a Google.

many thanks! managed to find this website due to your help! The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers
any idea of rarity? I know dispatch rider helmets are pretty common but i havent seen any with decals on the front before?
thanks,
Rob.
I think this may be similar to mine
I would say it was pretty rare, there can't be that many of them still around with a decal like that. The only thing that goes against it for me is it's a post war one, but apart from that it looks great.
Here's some more photos. Thanks for all the info/comments so far
It's a nice lid. As dispatch rider helmet guru tinlid has stated, the later than WW2 dates will seriously detract from it's value. Sit on it, keep it, it's a nice thing. Just enjoy it.
