    Nice display!

    A Fairburn-Sykes and a MkII are a good match.

    Do you maybe know which knife or bayonet goes with the Mk-II?
    The short spike bayonet used with the No. 4 Lee-Enfield service rifle, which was the standard service rifle of the Royal Netherlands army from 1942 till its replacement by the M1 Garand in 1952. These are easy to find.

    Thanks Gents, appreciate it.

    @earlymb

    Thanks for pointing this out. Im sure it would make the display more complete to have a short spike bayonet with an MkII helm between these to helmets. Or a Fairbairn–Sykes with it could do to!

    OK, so this is my “new” Rijkspolitie M38, and not M34.
    I begin to learn something of the new dutch helmets nomenclature...

    Hello Odysseios,

    Your M38 is actually a M38C. The C of course stands for civilian. The helmet you show does not hace a military background. It was purpouly made for civilian use. Which includes police use.

    The extra holes on your M40C puzzle me!

    Cheers,
    Emile

    Maybe for fitting a M38C new liner to the M40C shell...

    Collectors in The Netherlands think the design of the M27 might be based on the US "Liberty Bell".
