MK.2 South African helmet, need opinions please!

Hi,
I have this South African ww2 helmet, I have a doub about its color. It seams tho ave a nice patina and stacking marks with other helmets, but I'm not very knowledgeable about South African helmets. The liner is marked Rand 1940.
What do you think? Can be an original ww2 helmet in every part or there is any red flag?

If you look closer I bet it says Jager Rand.
The colour is hard to judge from the photos, but everything looks perfect to me. Posting my own (1943 dated) for reference.

The only thing might be the chin strap, it looks like a British one.
