Mk1*

Article about: A bit battered & bruised, but this Mk1* looks to be an early one. Rimless, Mk1 liner dated 1937 & made by HELMETS Ltd, being the first year they made Mk1 liners. Mk1 chin strap lugs

Quite often seen on the side, and all over really.
    These are Mk2 liners.
Not on the outside of the liner band, though. I just looked at 2 dozen lids and it was only on the 37s

The red FFL 1941 is on the outside of the liner band.

Yeah, but that is the maker mark/size stamp normally seen on the cross band. What I am saying is check all your MKI liners that have maker/size stamps on their cross bands and I bet you won't find additional small size stamps on the outside like the 37s . Go on....have a look !

Yes, the 37's have a small size number, so will take your word for it that they are not on post 37 liners, otherwise I'll be here all night looking for them

A new one. This one came straight from France, so I am betting it was left behind by a member of the B.E.F.
No idea what the flash is. If anyone can enlighten me, I would be very grateful. 1937 dated liner, with small size stamp on circumference.
