    Hi Watchdog,

It’s a Canadian civil defence helmet, from Quebec I’ve learned, that was found here in Canada.

This shell has seen better days, but the raw edge and apple green paint visible under khaki paint and sand finish has me wondering if it might be an early Type A or B Brodie helmet. It is stamped with an H over S and the number 49, and the word (name?) “TRENT”. My knowledge of Great War helmets is limited, so I would love to know what the group thinks!

Default G.S.W. 1942 AP Mk I Brodie AFS Toronto

Back in the '70s, there used to be an army surplus store in the town where I grew up in southern Ontario. They had a huge pack barn full of gear they'd bought from the Canadian government's Crown Assets Disposal Corporation - military clothing, old radar units, parts from helicopters - all kinds of neat stuff.

We bought this helmet back then and it's been in the family collecting dust ever since. When I started searching for information on this particular helmet, the only place I found any useful info was on this website, so here it is ...

Nice helmet. Hopefully our British / Homefront helmet experts will see this.

Not an area I know much about but appears to be some type of Homefront/Civil Defense helmet most probably for some Fire Service. I did find a thread on a similar helmet but unfortunately the photos were lost.

Not having any attachment to this relic, I was wondering what's the best way to get it into the hands of someone who would appreciate it (and at a fair price).
