The cluster of three rivets for the chinstrap point to it being an M80, the chinstrap should be an M1 copy on an original helmet.
The basis of what we think of as the Iraqi M80 is a widely exported South Korean helmet, which was also used by Indonesia, who also made their own version. If this was shot there - which strikes me a somewhat surprising - they would be easily obtained. Mind you the helmet was/is also used all over South Americ and SouthEast Asia. See various pages Composite Helmet, Ballistic helmets, Military helmets INDONESIA, INDONESIAN helmet, Kevlar helmet composite helmets index
What a strange Prop choice for a modern movie......I guess M1s are a lot rarer than we all think ;-)
I understand those helmets were not existing in 1946!
But the movie, a pamphlet against the Dutch colonial policy, was shot in Indonesia: helmets and guns were probably provided by the Indonesian Army.
Thanks for your comments.
Cheers.
