Indeed - it's in fabulous condition ! - Most of these shearling/cold weather types
I've seen are ripped somewhere and the leather is cracked. Judging by the
second photo Dave, you are no stranger to flight helmets !
It is interesting in that there are no holes for Gosport tubes
or attaching a headset/earphones.........

During the war, many were modified by the addition of leather earcups which held R-14 receivers. Some simply had holes cut over the ears so that regular headphones could be used with the helmet.
