Can anyone identify this cap?

Picked this cap up recently, in a lot with a few other bits, but not at all sure on what it is.
The shape and colour is very reminiscent of early US Army, large peak small crown.
But the buttons and materials don't fit with that.
I'd date it to 50s based on the construction, e.g leather brimmed peak.

No markings anywhere, and doesn't appear to have ever had a badge.

Any thoughts as I'm stumped.

I stand corrected - WW1 British Caps didn't have leather visors...

Yeah, definitely not British in construction.
Buttons are plain brown, domed, plastic covered metal.
