CARFIN, many thanks for your reply. Yes, I could follow your English. There is certainly more to these Kepis than I ever expected. I would have expected it to be older than that. Thank you again for your explanation. !

Apologies,
I couldn't locate a specific French Kepi to seek expert opinion. I aquired this M35 Kepi as a music festival! It doesn't have leather peak so suspect it is 1960's.
Would be very interested to know:
1. The unit with a silver flaming bomb.
2. Approximate era of use.
All comments welcome.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Anthony
Hello gentlemen,
Nice specimen of a French army model 1950 képi.
The képi is worn only by the army, from the simple soldier to the general of the army. In addition to its color association, it is the trimmings that give you the weapon in which the soldier serves and his rank. Yours does not bear any distinctive rank sign: it is therefore a simple soldier's képi.
It's the patterns of the weapon buttons that indicate which weapon it belongs to. In this case the pattern of a winged wheel corresponds to the “Train des Equipages”, (Logistics, Transport: ammunition equipment, etc.).
Your képi is therefore a simple soldier's képi from a “Train des Equipages” regiment from the 1980s/90s and its value is around 20€.
Best regards from Alsace , France.
Carfin.
Thank you so much for your comprehensive and helpful reply. Much appreciated. Anthony.
