Another recent acquisition; this could be of the WWII era, but also could be post-war. No crowns in the badges and I really cannot determine the maker, as hard as I have tried.
Side buttons are regimental pattern,, not General Service and the badge has the Battle Honour "Albuhera", used only for the regular battalions.The regiment's nickname, the Diehards was gained in that battle of the Peninsular War.
As with virtually every other British line infantry regiment, it has been amalgamated over the past 50 years or so, first into the Queen's Regt., then to the Princess of Wales Royal Regt.
