I’ve just acquired this amazing book - EASTERN FLEET “E” BULLETIN.
It dates from early 1945, although there is material in there from late 1944. It details escape and evasion equipment, survival (especially in Malaya and Sumatra), escape from P.o.W camps and interrogation from the Japanese. There are a large number of pages including maps. I will show some of the chapters in other posts

Equipment. Interestingly it makes reference that the ‘jungle suit’ is actually ‘Tropical green battledress’ as there were not enough Beadon suits for the Fleet Air Arm

By the way, I see Mr Vongold has also been fantastically lucky in finding yet another MI9 Three Witches formation badge! At a very reasonable bidding price too! A true bargain at around 1% of the price of the last Genuine one I saw... But at that price I’m sure it’s worth every penny!

Another RAAF silk map produced for MIS-X. This one covers South Borneo and has an interesting stamp in the bottom corner.
Something slightly different. A USAAF recognition poster for the Westland Lysander. This aircraft was used very effectively by SOE to drop and collect agents in occupied areas as well as repatriating evading allied servicemen.

It’s just like an auction from our favourite eBay seller! The WW1 ‘aircraft fabric’, ‘trench signs’ and fletchettes, ‘SAS’ items, pathetic ‘Mi9 / SOE’ items with a smattering of toys and genuine items. The question is, is this where the crap comes from or another place that it is peddled?
It’s interesting to note that the ‘escape and evasion’ items allegedly came from an ‘old soldier’ who died in 2010. I’ve been scouring eBay for many years and a number of the fake items were not around at that time (certainly not on eBay anyway) and have only been prevalent in the last few years.
