I know what you mean , there are many reference's out there re above British Airborne Insignia , as with American patch collecting you do have to be careful and know what to look for especially WWII/Post WWII period as manufacturing techniques change slightly in construction , thread , backing etc...

The interesting summation I have found , looking at elite Brit Formation patches online stores that have been labled WWII are not, so yes it pays to do research before you buy.

That was 5 years ago and Ade responded to the image shown. And have only used the forum uploader as broken links occur using other platforms.
Also the Formation sign was embroidered.
