15th Air force Ike Jacket
This is a nice 15th AAF Ike jacket, dated December 1944 with Staff Sergeant chevrons. The patches seem to be hand sewn, whether by a soldier or a tailor, I don't know. It's beautiful work whoever did it. The Ike also has two ribbon bars, including a good conduct medal and ETO ribbon bar with one campaign star.
My great great uncle on my mother's side of the family was a B-24 Pilot from October of 1944 to the end of the war, serving in the 15th AAF. This makes the Ike a special buy for me.
