    Default A-9 trouser addition

    Hello All,
Well won this one on ebay today for a tidy $33 + shipping for a grand total of $53.
I am one happy camper. It started at $20 and I thought what the heck this looks good and it has the suspenders. I sent the seller a couple questions about the leather tabs, suspender buckles, zippers and buttons and any damage that could not be seen. When all came back with a small stain on the bottom of one of the legs and the left knee area a little worn. The rest works and is all there.I thought What da heck $40. If I win I win if I lose well it just wasn't to be. It stayed at $20.50 for 2 days and just before it ended someone tried to snipe it, But just bumped it up a little more.

This is the type Phil told me he wore. "The green shiny material ones with the alpaca lining" So either the A-8 or A-9 with the A-9 being standardized in July 22, 1943. I thought it would be the A-9 for Phil's time frame of march of 44 when that pic was taken and what he always reference for when they were shot down. The A11 pants did not get standardized till February of 1945.So to late for those to be considered
These are the sellers pic and I should have it by Saturday.

    Nice find, Phil!
That’s a great price and a nice, unusual maker!

I got a pair of A-9s from the US a few years ago.
The best part was the customs declaration label, which described the parcel contents as,
    ‘Used pants and suspenders’..

In the UK, that means something very, very different...

    Thanks Bob,
I find these alot without the suspenders for that price and most are worn and stained , Now some are cherry but less the suspenders and findng a pair of suspenders only come around every once in a while and those cost the price I paid for the whole set.

So for now, My next item needs to be a very nice B-2 cap. That will complete the Phil set up less the undergarments. Those Blue Bunny suits are going to cost me plenty.

To top this off. These are a decent size and they MIGHT fit me.

I googled "Used pants and suspenders’., But only found a reference to a Banker loan agreement.
Maybe I don't get English slang on my phone. LOL!!

    Pants = knickers (feminine undergarment).
Suspenders = garter belt (for stockings/nylons).

    See what I mean?

    I kept the label.

I wouldn’t dare google it over here..
