They are two fantastic old guys , the last time i had them in Normandy in 2009 we were invited to the Salle de fete in Lingevres where i must admit we are treated like royalty , after a few wines and Calvados the sight of the two of them jitterbugging with some of the old French ladies was a memory that will live in my mind for along time !!

Does anyone have any pictures of WW2 era servicewomen in their undies apart from those shown in Brayley & Ingram book? It is for research purposes

Lez, A few years back at the fairs I saw a few pairs of dark blue knicker-type things with white tape ties at the sides. Any idea about them? I think they were called WAAF knickers at the time but that was probably a male dealers guess!

Hiya, I know those blue knickers to which you refer. Certainly not ATS issue. I have seen them sold as WAAF too, which I doubt they are. ATS/WAAF underwear I believe was standardised. I have the list of ATS issue clothing and these do not appear. I don't have a WAAF list as I don't really collect WAAF kit.

    Cheers, Lez.

I had my doubts about them being WAAF at the time, WRNS perhaps then? I've not seen any for quite a while now though.
