British trousers identification

Hi,
please can you tell me some information about these british trousers?
The color is khaki and not green how they seems.
There is a stamp with arrow and WD and they have brass bottons

Looks like a pair of work trousers, have seen similar before with brace attachments and one outside pocket.

Yes mate,
Definitely WW2 issue
They are what's classed as Economy Work Clothing , so cheaper to make.
So they don't have the quality of other uniforms .

This is the range of clothing that eventually became known in the Army as "Denims" and was worn on "Fatigues".

In others groups somebody tell me that these are early trousers of an early khaki drill complete. In fact they was found together with tropical uniforms of an italian that fought in North Africa.

The ones you have are obviously unissued old stock .
Original worn ones would be rotten rag bits by now .

I do not understand your post or perhaps I have explained wrongly.
A box was found (in a house in a southern Italian town) in which there were tropical uniforms by an Italian officer who had fought in Africa. Along with this material there was these trousers and a khali drill jacket, see picture.

I agree, these show no signs of being worn at all. Even a few days wear in the N.Africa heat and sand would have given them a very different look.

Do you know if the Italian soldier was a POW of the British? That could explain these being in his possessions.
