Just pulled this out of the attic of a house we are renovating. Does it appear to be a WWII original? Significance of the ribbons on the shoulders?

Anyone have any starting points on this suit for me to start researching?
I believe MAAF stands for Mediterranean Allied Air forces Command which was in service from late 1943 until the end of the War. Here's some history on it I found: CONTENTdm
Looks like this was made into a costume of some sort. The red, white and blue ribbons on the shoulders and the stars on the cuffs were added for more of a costume design. Can't comment on the era or age of the flight suit/coveralls but the 1st Army Air Force and MAAF (Mediterranean Allied Air Force) insignia are both WW2 vintage.
It would appear that it is trying to be a 1950s L-1A Blue flight suit but military issue it is not.

Thank you very much Smitty. It appeared to be a fantasy piece to me as well.
You're welcome..
