Named 347th Engineers regiment Ike

This jacket I was excited to finally receive in the mail. It belonged to a man named Donald Vincent Poplar, who joined Company A, 347th Engineers General Service Regiment in 1943. He saw service in Normandy after D-Day, France and the Rhineland. In Normandy, (and after the breakout) it was his job to help the Company repair blown up rail lines, clear pillboxes and dragons teeth, and to clear the streets. He was a trombone player in the regimental band.

What I like about this Ike , is that Donald Poplar represents the average citizen soldier, sailor,marine , airman, coastguard , merchant marine they did there part.

The Ike is fantastic , draft card superb.
