Some very wise comments in response to the odd placement of the ribbon bar.

When collecting WWII U.S. uniforms it's something you'll run across commonly. It comes from a combination of a few different factors. It certainly wasn't unordinary to see vet's wearing them like this during the period, but there is also post war interference that can result in this too. A few of the Ike's in my collection were obtained directly from the vet's family. In one case the family had taken the Ike to be dry cleaned prior to selling it to me. When replacing the ribbons after getting it cleaned they simply placed them back on randomly.

Another thing I want to point out is how veterans simply grow old and forget the correct order/position of their ribbons over time. Take this Veteran of the 78th infantry for example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfxrt9vTm_M This interview was filmed in December of 2019, and in it he is wearing his original Ike jacket. You can clearly see the unorthodox placement of his ribbons.
