It's original. Known simply as the War Medal. It was awarded to all service personnel who had served at least 28 days in the Armed Forces or Merchant Navy, from 3rd September 1939 to 2nd September 1945.

Absolutely & with its original ribbon, don't pay to much for it s they are very common (though there is a fake but it is rubbish) regards paul

I agree and the fakes which are usually called "replacements" are very very shiny and cheap looking. The originals look like a treasury minted coin in terms of the definition of the strike as well as the colour and texture of the metal. Side by side even in photographs the difference can be seen.

I just bought it! The seller also sent a german field dressing and a german coin!
