    Default Unknown ribbon colors

    Hello everyone,

I saw this ribbon on a civilian award from England from 1938, which usually has an all-blue ribbon (may have been replaced later than 1938).

My guess is that the owner may have had a medal and had the medal ribbon colors added (so I would ignore the blue of the ribbon as the ribbon is usually all blue).

Does anyone know if there is an medal in England whose ribbon has the following pattern: narrow yellow, narrow white, wide red, narrow white, narrow yellow? And if so, which one is it?

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

    Best regards
    Wolf

For a start, you cannot simply ‘add’ colours to a ribbon; it is exactly the way it was originally woven...
Quite what medal it was intended for is another matter and one beyond my knowledge (interested to find out though).
