WW1 miniature medal pair question..

Hello all i need some advice please.
Ive recently picked up a British ww1 miniature medal pair to go with grt grandads photo, his originals are out there but just dont know where, one day they will turn up again.
Anyways back to the minis..
On closer inspection i noticed the war medal ? Swivels.. is this a damaged medal someone has repaired, a manufacturers varient or have i mistakenly got a repro..
