Politefaun - They all look nice together. Ready to see the other 3 added!

Terry - Wow! What a collection! It's really neat to see the subtle changes in the patches.

One thing you might do is give them the black light test. Unfortunately there are some really good repro's these days. The greenback 82nd is indeed nice! here are a few of the ones I had if you want to compare them.

    Hope it helps,

    Terry
That's an amazing collection of 101st, 82nd and 17th Airborne patches! I really like the ones with material connecting the tab to the main bodies. I do need to grab a black light soon as there are a lot of fakes.

Just keep in mind that black lighting is not the 100% guaranteed method of identifying reproductions as many of the period original patches had been washed post war in phosphates that will give a false reading.. Burn testing of the threads, handling of the patches and studying of the insignia are the best methods to ascertain originals,, in addition of course from getting them directly from the veteran, but even this method is not always a 100% guarantee. A black light is handy to have, especially to immediately identify Pakistani and Asian reproductions outright...

    Hi Terry,
Nice lot of patches , if you really want to put patches up to compare , you really need to do the backs as well .
And you really need good quality Hi Res scans and cut it down in numbers to say 4 max at a time.
Photobucket links dont work that well.
    Cheers Rick
