Thanks Mart,
They are sitting on top of my display case with my Wing's and US and AAF insignia.

I don't know why I didn't comment on this earlier, but those are really cool and in amazing shape same with the 8th air force ones which I didn't even know existed until now. There's a picture of my Great Uncle before he went over to Europe with a DUI pinned to his garrison cap, but its square in shape unlike the circular ones here.
Hello Stephen,
I'm glad you like these.
I think the one's your uncle is wearing maybe the training command.
I got a pic of one being worn by the ball turret gunner on my Uncle's B-17.
I'll see if I can find it and I'll post it to see if its what your uncle is wearing.
Give me a little bit and check back.

Ok these belonged to Charles Erye the Ballturret gunner. He was one of the KIA on the B-17 "Mrs Geezil"my uncles was on when they were shot down.
This is his Purple Heart his family got and this was the DUI that was his. I was told its from the Technical training command he attended before being assigned to a crew.
close up of the DUI
Stephen , Does this look like it?

I think that might be it, here's the pic that it's in which I'm guessing is sometime after training since he has wings (aircrew or gunner I can't tell) and a higher rank than the photos he took at the airbase in Harvard Nebraska.
Very nice Phil,
I have a USAAC training DUI , but only a single
Cheers Rick
