    All the units shown were involved with the liberation of Holland, so, I would say this poem is from a booklet printed to honour the liberators at the end of the war.

    The disaster year (19) 40 made us slaves of the Germans (Krauts).
    The German boot shattered the fragile peace coarse.
    Goodbye happiness and no more freedom.
    Our eyes were dull.
    The voice from London kept in us the smoldering spark of hope of redemption from the noble 'Rasgermaan' (Germanic race).
    Overseas they laboured, working on a army and a navy; on land, on water and in the air, the forces increasingly strengthened.
    After endless wait of 4-5 years, the freedom came for us.
    Much has been ruined, destroyed, killed, but our people that remain;
    our warrior people of law, art and science, it will regain glory of yesteryear, step by step.
    Thanks to our friends in need, from across the ocean.
    Here our tribute and the wish:
    Each shield a victory flag!
