the insignia of the prince of wales was has been used by many regiments of the British armed forces since at least the 17th c I think.
Obviously many of the regiments from wales use it but it is also popular among units who are aligned in some way with the various princes of wales over time and among them are a series of collar badges which can be very difficult to tie down to which unit they were for. Some make it easier having the units name on the them or a clue such as the pembroke collars with fishguard on them, others are very hard to id
