British Anti Gas Eyeshield Wallet ?

Hello all,

this wallet pictured is clearly anti gas it was in a British gas mask bag and has a pair of anti gas eye shields in it, very difficult to prise apart but does when its been out in the sun.
It is fitted with Newey studs and measures 12" x 11" as seen here laid out

What do we know ?

Its an anti-gas wallet, issued to soldiers to store personnel documents etc - hard to find in good condition like this, are there any markings on the flap? they were treated with linseed oil which over the years goes sticky and thats what makes them hard to open (same with the anti-gas capes). From memory the early version had the studs but later ones omitted them

Thanks for that,no visible markings on outside,i will warm it up during the day and see if theres any inside.
