No. Never seen one. I got my D.D.R. compass from Strum Imports when the wall came down and all the stuff was imported. When I opened the boxes I put my stuff aside. Rich A. in Pa.

I understand this is the original M-1938 Lensatic Compass. I picked this up years ago at a favorite surplus store.
As I understand this original version did see service in the early part of WW2. It was used by officers and a few specialist units but was quickly replaced by a lightweight version. This one is quite heavy (alloy body) and came with a leather pouch. These compass are individually serial numbered.
