Seabees Trunk

I picked this up unexpectedly today as I was finally able to get out. I’m not very knowledgeable on the Seabees but this trunk is quite interesting. The trunk itself appears to have Japanese writing (according to my father) on the brass fittings by the handle. It has the Seabees emblem on the front and his initials on the back. All the metal fittings are brass and the whole case has a layer of varnish. Not sure on a date but I picked it up for what I think is a great price at $30 so wartime or post war I’m not too worried. Because the trunk is Japanese I would guess it probably post war.
