    DABI26.....it was marketed as a hot water bottle.

    Does it mean that it was a kind of thermos with drinking water? Or a medical hot water bottle?

    I imagine it was valued more as a source of warmth, but in a pinch as a source of water as well. Necessity is the mother of invention.

    The I on the markings should be a J. Check out J Bourne & Son. It seems like a 'moderne' style 1930-50.
    Function over decorative. Started off in the 1800's and is still going nowadays.
