Looks like a gable end valet trunk. Not military but a nice old trunk.
Thanks, I suspected as much, with no military stamps or labels or paint on it.

..my dad brought home his ''suitcase'' from the Korean War..I have no idea when he got it .....maybe I'll post it sometime
