    Looks like the tool pouch for the Vickers MMG. But these tend to have an "armoured" metal edge around the top flap. Is there provision on the sides for a leather shoulder sling? I have one of these in my collection, but I don't have a photo of it to hand.

    But it could equally be an ammo pouch. We really need to see more photos including any markings and especially one of the reverse.
