Picked up this ID book with a couple of interesting photos.
Issued 1944 to Sgt. PAVLOVICH Mikhail Evstafovich born 1917.
959th Rifle Regiment, 1st Ukrainian Front
If anyone can interpret any further information I would be most grateful
Thanks
Nick

Lovely items, please excuse my ignorance but are the photos of the same soldier?
A pleasure to view this.Good luck with the translation!
Hi ! I can read that your soldier was awarded with the Medal "For Battle Merit".
That handwriting is a bit of a struggle, and I’ve only had a once-over, but I’m seeing medals for Victory over Germany and Battle for Berlin...
So far...
Thank you for that information 👍🏻
Interesting to know he fought all the way to Berlin

I’m having second thoughts about Berlin... (my Russian is very rusty)!
He was Ukrainian, stayed in until early 1946, lots of little bits about kit issue, Carbine (typical of Artillerymen - and managed to get through three of them - I always like to check the numbers against those in my collection), but nothing more meaty for you yet, I’m afraid...
I’ll keep trying,
Bob
Thanks Bob, I really appreciate you looking
Any info is very welcome
