Ziba Ganiyeva (1923-2010)
Looking at this smiling young woman in an oriental dress, can anybody imagine that she had killed more than one hundred Germans? She did it.
Ziba in a small part in the Soviet movie “Takhir and Zukhra”, 1945.
Actually non-Russian (Azerbaijani by father and Uzbek by mother), young Soviet girl entered the Moscow Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in 1940, but next year she had to change her plans. She became a sniper in 1941 - combat actions, severe wound, long months in hospitals, Medal For the Defence of Moscow, Combat Order of the Red Banner and the Order of the Red Star. Look at these pigtails on the photo below - just a girl. Just a hero.
