A few drawings done by Boyko, most showing POW life; as a Philly guy myself, my favorite would have to be the one of he did of the Philly skyline.

Thanks, Phil. I grew up in Olney, and frequently drive into Philly for work. While there's been quite a few additions to the skyline since 1945, his drawing was easy to identify.

It was bitter sweet, as I would have loved to have kept the group together, but at the same time, am happy ta family member wanted to keep a portion of the group.

This is a really interesting thread.

As a 13-14 year old kid, I made money doing yard work for one of our neighbors.
He was a nice man who would invite me into his house for a cold Root Beer after
I had finished my work and ask about how I was doing in school or what my plans
were. Just a nice man who was very quite but seemed just a bit "off".

Some years later, I mentioned him to boss at work and he told me that my neighbor
had served in "Army Intelligence" during the war and had been captured and tortured
by the Gestapo. I wish that I taken the time to learn more about him.
