    Default USMC Raider KIA

I collect US Navy ships covers from WW2. I normally only collect those that were sunk or involved in heavy action. I didn’t have one from USS Boise a cruiser involved with the Iwo Jima landings. I found an inexpensive cover on eBay. The seller stated it was from the Navy Medical Corps. When I researched the sender I discovered he was with the USS Boise in 1940 Marine Detachment and by 1943 he was a Sgt who was a USMC Raider KIA on Tarawa..he sent the letter home to his mom in 1940.USMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIAUSMC Raider KIA
