1888 Bayonet

Article about: Got this 1888 bayonet for £55 today. Its plain apart from markings "31"on wood grips and on scabbard and there is a stamped letter "M" on the inner piece of crossguard. T

    Default 1888 Bayonet

    Got this 1888 bayonet for £55 today. Its plain apart from markings "31"on wood grips and on scabbard and there is a stamped letter "M" on the inner piece of crossguard. Two brass rivets standard blade. No oil holes on eithet grip but hole in rear. Scabbard is red leather with metal fittings. Any ideas on maker and possible issue date thanks
