Hi Casey,
there should be some markings for the manufacture on the bayonet some where, on my one the markers Number is on the pommel, with the bayonet model type and broad arrow mark on the blade just below the cross guard, as to the blade again mine is bright steel almost up to the cross guard, and there is a distinctive line were the chemical blacking finishes, so if you wanted to remove the rust from the blade and polish it would not look incorrect.
