Back in the 1980s I started to try to get back into collecting fighting knives
and daggers. I went to a military show where a dealer tried to sell me a
chrome plated F-S knife. I took a look at it and saw it was marked "Japan Sword"
so I handed the knife back to the dealer and chastized him for trying to sell me
an obviously fake British Commando dagger. he was asking $90 for it.
I was young and dumb and had never heard of the Vietnam era presentation daggers.
So for years now I have been trying to find a US Special Forces presentation dagger
for a reasonable price.
This is not a commemorative knife sold to collectors. These were given out by
the special forces to some men upon there their completion of a tour of duty in Vietnam
or for recognition for some other specific task completed.
