Article about: Anybody know what this is? Looks like an M7 blade, but not a bayonet. Maybe brazed together from parts?

    I agree the blade has the look of a US M7 profile I think I can see the sloping back cut of the M7 but its hard to tell with the corrosion. Obviously the cross guard and pommel are not right for a bayonet. My thoughts are that someone tried their hand at making a M3 knife lookalike.

    Thanks, It came in an m8 scabbard but clearly not a pair.

    Probably made by some kid in a high school metals shop class and the piece was confiscated by a teacher and sold years later in a garage sale.

    I agree with it not being a period theater made knife or any type of production item. Post war amateur made.
